Peanut Barns Railroad Print

The painting depicts the old peanut barns in High Springs, Florida. The barns are still there, however, the steam engine has been replaced with a diesel engine. I had my studio in High Springs for several years in the 1990’s and have made many paintings of this quaint little North Central Florida town.

High Springs is about 30 miles north of Gainesville, Florida and was once a major railroad repair yard in the early part of the 1900’s. There are many springs in the area and that is where it got it’s name. Today many cave divers visit High Springs to dive at Ginnie Springs, one of Florida’s premier diving destinations.

It comes hand-mounted in our studio by Marvi, in an 11 in. x 14 in. acid free white Bainbridge® mat on an 11 in. x 14 in. foam core backing board. The window opening on the mat is 7.5 in. x 9.5 in.
