The original
sketch for The Golfer was made in 2000 at my wife Marvi's family
reunion in Pembroke Pines, Florida. The U.N. stands for United Nachamson,
which is Marvi's mothers maiden family name. Marvi's grandmother,
Jennie B. Nachamson is listed in the Who's Who of American Jewish
women for her activities as a founder of the Haddasah organization
in Kinston, North Carolina in 1917. That took real courage!
We were sitting
at breakfast and I always have my sketch book handy, so I drew this
scene which was right outside the window. The golf balls are actually
floating on a lake in the driving range, where the range keeper
goes out several times a day in a boat and retrieves them from the
water.
